Holiday Club at The Windmills Junior School

Boredom-busting fun and activities for all primary ages!

Our adventure-filled holiday club is located at The Windmills Junior School in Hassocks.

It runs every holiday, is open to all primary-aged children (ages 4-11), no matter what school they attend, and allows them to make the most of their school break.

Something for Everyone

  • Each holiday club is themed, for example, Epic Adventures, Science Fiction Fun, and Let’s Go Round The World – check out our latest news page to see what we have planned next!
  • There is always a wide range of planned activities and workshops, for the children to enjoy each day, like science and STEM games, baking, sports and games, craft and making, and performance activities. It’s a no-pressure environment, so they can choose to join in or create their own play from the many resources we have on offer
  • In the learning café, we explore different themed workshops or classes, such as arts and crafts like upcycling, and other making projects

  • In the main hall, we do wide group games like ‘Capture the Flag’, team treasure hunts and more

  • The outside play areas and backfield are for running around, sports tournaments like football and rounders, water fights, and skill-based challenges

  • Plus there’s the usual painting, crafting, junk modelling, den making, dressing up, Lego building, football, and sports – and of course, children can come up with their own play (which is the BEST kind of play)!

Don’t forget..

  • Packed Lunch

  • Water bottle

  • Wellies & Waterproofs

  • Sun Hat

Things to Bring

Your child will need to bring a water bottle that they can refill throughout the day, and a substantial packed lunch with a cool pack to keep it fresh.

Please remember to pack them off with a sun hat if it’s hot or wellies and waterproofs if it’s rainy. Whatever the weather the children love to play outside!

Please apply sun cream to your child/ children at home before they come to holiday club, ideally using an 8-hour duration cream.

Holiday Activities and Food Programme (HAF)

The HAF programme is fully funded by the Department for Education and offers children who are entitled to benefits related free school meals the opportunity to attend participating holiday activity clubs and have a free meal.

Benefits-related free school meals (FSM) are available to pupils if their parents are in receipt of one of the qualifying benefits and have a claim verified by West Sussex County Council.
